Black Stars forward Mohammed Fuseini has shared his excitement about receiving his maiden national team invite for the Unity Cup tournament in London, revealing he knew he was going to get on the scoresheet.

Fresh from winning the Belgium Pro League with Union Saint Gilloise, Fuseini made a strong impression in his debut, scoring his first goal in just two games with the senior national team.

He played a crucial role in Ghana’s third-place finish, culminating in a thumping win over Trinidad and Tobago.

“I was really excited and I was always ready for that moment and as you saw how I played, I was ready for that moment and the opportunity given to me,” Fuseini told 3Sports.

He added, “Before the game, when I knew I was starting, I knew I was going to score. Because it was a special moment for me and I also had to push to make it more special and get a goal.”

Fuseini’s impressive performance provided head coach Otto Addo with valuable options, particularly in the absence of injured players Abdul Fatawu Issahaku and Ernest Nuamah.
