GFA mourns former SWAG Presidents Ackah Anthony and Ebo Quansah

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of two respected former Presidents of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG), Mr. Ackah Anthony and Mr. Ebo Quansah.

Mr. Ackah Anthony, who led SWAG from 2007 to 2015, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2025.

He was known for his integrity and leadership, steering the association with distinction during his tenure.

Mr. Ebo Quansah, who served as SWAG’s fifth President and remained a patron until his death, was a towering voice in Ghanaian sports journalism.

His insightful commentary and relentless dedication left a lasting imprint on the profession.

In a tribute, GFA General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo acknowledged their significant roles: “The two distinguished men served the GFA in different capacities in its development agenda in the past, and we thank them exceedingly for their contributions to Ghana Football.”

The GFA lauded their commitment to upholding journalistic excellence and advancing the values of Ghanaian sport. Their legacy, the Association said, will continue to inspire future generations.

The GFA extended heartfelt condolences to their families, SWAG, and all who mourn their loss, pledging solidarity during this period of grief.
