Ghanaian winger Kamaldeen Sulemana is scheduled to undergo a medical with Italian Serie A side Atalanta on Friday, ahead of his proposed €21.5 million move from Southampton.
The 23-year-old, currently in Accra, will cut short his holiday and travel to Bergamo to complete the final steps of the transfer. The deal includes an initial €17.5 million fee plus €4 million in potential add-ons, with Southampton also securing a 15% sell-on clause.
Once he passes his medical, Sulemana is expected to sign a four-year contract with Atalanta, which includes an option for a fifth year.
The Ghana international joined Southampton from Stade Rennais in February 2023 for €25 million. Despite showing flashes of his talent, he scored just two goals and added three assists in 30 appearances during the 2024–25 season, which ended in relegation for the Saints.
Sulemana’s move to Atalanta offers him a fresh start and a return to top-flight European football, with the club expected to integrate him quickly ahead of the new Serie A season.
