Black Queens beat Benin 4-2 in second WAFCON warm-up match

The Black Queens of Ghana continued their impressive build-up to the 2025 CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) with a 4-2 comeback win over Benin on Wednesday evening.

Currently camped in Morocco, the team is putting final touches to their preparations ahead of the tournament, which kicks off on July 5.

After a 3-1 win over Malawi last Saturday in their first pre-tournament friendly, the Queens faced Benin in their second test match.

Nina Norshie gave Ghana an early lead in the 4th minute, but Benin responded strongly, equalizing in the 11th minute and taking a 2-1 lead by the 32nd minute.

The Black Queens showed resilience in the second half, with goals from Alice Kusi, Susan Duah, and Chantelle Hlorkah sealing a 4-2 victory.

Next up for Ghana is a final warm-up match against Nigeria on June 25 ; a crucial fixture before their WAFCON campaign begins in July.
