Ghana international Kamaldeen Sulemana is on the brink of joining Italian side Atalanta, with negotiations between the Serie A outfit and Southampton reaching an advanced stage, GHANAsoccernet.com understands.
Sulemana, 23, has been a transfer target for multiple European clubs following Southampton’s relegation from the Premier League.
Both Atalanta and Genoa expressed interest in the pacey winger, but it is Atalanta who now appear closest to securing his signature for the 2025/26 season.
Atalanta’s initial offer of £10 million was turned down by Southampton, who are reportedly holding out for a fee in the range of £10–20 million.
However, the Italian club have since returned with an improved bid in the region of £15 million, which has brought the deal close to completion.
Sources indicate that only final details remain before the transfer is sealed, with Sulemana expected to join Atalanta in the coming days.
