Golden Kick Coach blames FA Cup final loss on inexperience

Golden Kick head coach Nii Parker Hanson says a lack of experience among his players cost them the 2025 MTN FA Cup title.

The lower-tier side lost 2-1 to Asante Kotoko in the final played at the University of Ghana Stadium.

Speaking to Sporty FM, Coach Hanson described his squad as “immature” and suggested they lacked the composure needed to finish off big games.

“If I had three of Kotoko’s experienced players, I would beat Kotoko hands down,” he said.

“You saw the immaturity in these boys [Golden Kick]. Sometimes they need to do the right thing, but because they don’t have the experience, [they can’t].

We wanted to win [the FA Cup] to make history.”

Despite the defeat, Golden Kick impressed many by reaching the final, knocking out top-tier sides along the way including Hearts of Oak.
