Hearts of Oak are on the cusp of a remarkable resurgence in the Ghana Premier League.
With their upcoming final match against FC Samartex on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium, the Phobians are poised to finish the league in either 4th or 5th, which would mark their highest finish and point tally since the 2020/21 season when they won the league with 61 points under erstwhile coach Samuel Boadu.
This season’s performance is a significant turnaround from the previous two campaigns, although the season has been a forgettable one by Hearts’ lofty standards.
Hearts of Oak finished 14th in the 2023/24 season with 45 points and 12th in 2022/23 with 46 points.
Currently, Hearts of Oak have 55 points, and a strong finish would be a testament to the team’s progress.
The club’s resurgence is a welcome development for fans and stakeholders alike, although rumors swirl around the future of head coach Aboubakar Ouattara, with Maxwell Konadu lined up as a potential replacement.
