2025 Unity Cup: Otto Addo backs Black Stars to finish competition with win

Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo, says his team has what it takes to end their 2025 Unity Cup campaign on a high.

Speaking at a pre-match press conference, Addo expressed confidence ahead of Ghana’s third-place game against Trinidad and Tobago on Saturday at the G-Tech Community Centre in London.

The match will determine who finishes third in the four-nation tournament, with Trinidad and Tobago having lost 3-2 to Jamaica and Ghana falling 2-1 to Nigeria in their respective openers.

Despite missing key players like Thomas Partey, Addo insists his squad has enough quality to claim victory.

“We showed already a good reaction [against Nigeria] surely we would want to continue in the second half,” he said at the pre-match conference.

“We really want to finish this tournament with a win and I think we have the quality for that and we just have to show that on the pitch from the beginning and not just from the second half.”

Nigeria will face Jamaica in the final of the Unity Cup on Saturday at 16:30 GMT.
