Former General Manager of Nsoatreman FC, Eric Alagidede, believes the winner of this weekend’s highly anticipated clash between Bibiani GoldStars and Asante Kotoko could go on to lift the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League title.
Speaking ahead of Sunday’s showdown at Dun’s Park, Alagidede described the match as a potential title decider given the positions of both teams on the league table.
“Whoever wins the game is in a good position to win the league,” he said in an interview, tipping either side to go all the way if they can claim all three points in Bibiani.
Gold Stars, currently second, are just one point behind league leaders Nations FC, while Kotoko, sitting in fourth, must win to keep their championship hopes alive.
The match is expected to be fiercely contested, with both teams aware of what is at stake. GoldStars boast one of the best home records in the league, while Kotoko will be looking to snap a 15-game away winless streak, as highlighted earlier this week by league statistician Mo Shaban.
Alagidede, with years of experience in Ghanaian football management, noted that momentum in the final stretch of the season is crucial; and Sunday’s result could tilt the balance.
“A win here gives not just three points, but belief, momentum, and a mental edge in the title race,” he added.
With just a few matches remaining, the pressure is on both clubs to deliver. Fans across the country will be watching closely to see who takes the big step forward in this defining fixture.
