Accra Lions’ coach Rainer Kraft is reportedly a top contender for the Asante Kotoko coaching position.
The Porcupine Warriors are currently without a substantive coach after Prosper Ogum’s sacking, with Abdul Karim Zito serving as interim coach until the season’s end.
According to reports, Asante Kotoko is targeting Kraft as a potential candidate for the job.
Despite Accra Lions’ relegation battle, Kraft has shown glimpses of good performance with the team. The 62-year-old German tactician took over in January 2025, replacing Ibrahim Tanko.
Asante Kotoko, currently fourth in the league standings with 54 points, are expected to approach Kraft about the coaching position once the season concludes.
Kraft’s potential appointment would be an interesting development, considering Accra Lions’ struggles in the league, where they sit 16th with 35 points.
