Faith Ladies emerged victorious in the Women’s FA Cup final at the University of Ghana Stadium on Sunday after coming from behind to defeat Jonina Ladies 2-1 in a thrilling match that required extra time.
The game was tightly contested, with both teams struggling to create scoring opportunities in the early stages.
After a goalless 90 minutes, the match proceeded to extra time, where Jonina Ladies took the lead through Joyce Atimbila’s goal in the 97th minute.
However, Faith Ladies quickly responded when Erica Obeng Apreku scored just a minute later to level the match.
Apreku then sealed the win for Faith Ladies with another goal in the 112th minute, completing her brace and securing the team’s victory. Despite Jonina’s efforts to equalize, Faith Ladies maintained their composure and determination to claim the Women’s FA Cup title.
