In a repeat of the 1997 final, Morocco’s U20 team are set to face South Africa in the final of the U20 Africa Cup of Nations.
Morocco secured a spot in the 2025 CAF U20 Africa Cup of Nations final with a 1-0 win over Egypt in the semi-finals.
Despite dominating possession and shots, Morocco struggled to score in the first half against Egypt’s strong defense. However, Jones El Abdellaoui broke the deadlock in the 77th minute, thanks to a setup from Ismael Aouad.
South Africa, on the other hand, advanced to the final after defeating Nigeria’s Flying Eagles 1-0 in the earlier semi-final.
The Morocco-South Africa final will take place on Sunday, May 18.
