Serbian giants Red Star Belgrade are reportedly considering a move to bring Ghanaian winger Osman Bukari back to the club in 2025.
Bukari, 26, made the switch to Major League Soccer side Austin FC last summer in a deal reportedly valued at €7 million, signing a contract that runs through to the end of the 2027 season.
However, his transition to life in the United States has not gone as smoothly as hoped.
Since arriving in Texas, the Black Stars winger has struggled to replicate the explosive form he once showed in Europe, managing just two goals and three assists across 24 appearances for Austin FC.
His dip in productivity has reportedly opened the door for potential suitors and familiar ones at that.
Red Star, known locally as Crvena zvezda, are said to be monitoring Bukari’s situation closely as they look to reinforce their squad ahead of the 2025/26 season. The club is especially focused on boosting its attacking options for both domestic competition and upcoming European campaigns.
Bukari previously enjoyed a standout spell at the Serbian outfit, scoring 25 goals and providing 20 assists in 78 appearances across all competitions.
He initially joined Red Star from Belgian side KAA Gent in July 2022 for a reported fee of €3 million.
His prior success in Belgrade, coupled with his familiarity with the club’s system and expectations, makes him a compelling option should Austin FC decide to entertain offers.
For now, no formal talks have been confirmed, but with the summer window approaching, Bukari’s future is one to watch closely e; specially for fans in Belgrade who remember his contributions fondly.
