Asante Kotoko’s media director, Sarfo Duku, has revealed that the club has reached a principal agreement with captain Frederick Asare over contract renewal. Asare’s contract expires in June, and discussions have been ongoing with players whose contracts are nearing expiration.
“There are ongoing conversations between any player at Kotoko whose contract expires in a year or less for a prospective renewal, and so far the response has been favorable, since the players are all keen to stay,” Duku tole Akoma Fm.
Specifically, regarding Asare’s contract, Duku added, “Frederick Asare and Asante Kotoko have both agreed in principle to a contract renewal, and we will soon finalize all documents.”
Asare, who joined Kotoko from Accra Lions in 2022, has become a vital team member.
Duku highlighted the player’s willingness to continue playing for the club, saying, “The player, along with Samba, is really willing to continue playing for the club.”
The contract renewal is expected to be finalized soon, securing Asare’s future with the Porcupine Warriors. This development is a positive sign for the team as they pursue their goals.
