Asante Kotoko’s head of communications, Sarfo Duku, has hinted that Karim Zito, the club’s technical director, might lead the team as head coach next season.
Currently, Zito is acting as interim coach, and reports have linked Kotoko to other coaches like Maxwell Konadu or Samuel Boadu.
“We (management) have not considered employing a substantive head coach. We are startled by the names being circulated in the media, as we have not had any discussions with any coaches,” Duku said on Akoma Fm.
However, he added that anything is possible in football: “In football, anything is possible, Karim Zito could take over as head coach, or a new coach could be chosen, but this would only happen after the season and after multiple talks with the coaches and essential stakeholders.”
