Head coach of Hearts of Oak, Aboubakar Ouattara, has hit back at critics questioning his team’s performance in their 1-0 win over Medeama SC.
Raphael Amponsah scored the only goal of the game as Hearts secured a hard-fought victory at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Despite ending a four-game winless streak, the Phobians’ display was widely criticized for lacking creativity and intensity.
“Sometimes, I ask myself, what do you [journalists] want?” Ouattara said.
“When we win, you say the performance isn’t good. When we play well and lose, you still criticise. Tell me the truth, what exactly do you want?
“For me, I want the three points. If I get them, all this talk doesn’t matter to me. The table doesn’t record performances, it records points.”
The win lifts Hearts of Oak to fourth on the table with 40 points.
They will face Vision FC in their next league encounter.
