Bechem United assistant coach Seth Osei has expressed his delight at the return of the Ghana Premier League after a month-long suspension.

The league was put on hold following the tragic death of Francis Frimpong Pooley, who was fatally stabbed after a match between Asante Kotoko and Nsoatreman FC.

Pooley was laid to rest on March 6, and with football resuming, Bechem United is set to face Medeama FC at the TNA Park in Tarkwa.

“The feeling [of resumption] is very good. It is a job we’ve chosen to do. What happened will not be entertained,” Bechem Assistant coach Seth Osei told the club’s media.

“Based on our training sessions, I think it was good and we hope to continue then we decide on the plan and strategy [for the clash against Medeama SC].

To enhance security and prevent similar incidents, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has introduced new safety measures, including appointing safety and security officers and installing CCTV cameras at match venues.
