Ghana coach Otto Addo has made late adjustments to his squad ahead of the crucial 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers doubleheader against Sudan.

The 45-year-old coach initially named a 25-man squad on Friday, October 4, but injuries have forced him to make several changes.

Majeed Ashimeru of R.S.C. Anderlecht was expected to join the squad but is now likely to miss the games after sustaining an injury in Anderlecht’s 3-0 victory over Standard de Liège.

In his place, Cercle Brugge midfielder Francis Abu has been called up.

Additionally, Ibrahim Osman, on loan at Feyenoord from Brighton & Hove Albion, will also miss the matches due to injury.

AZ Alkmaar winger Ibrahim Sadiq has been summoned to replace him.

Kingsley Schindler of Turkish side Samsunspor is another player ruled out after picking up an injury during his team’s 3-1 win against Adana Demirspor.

FC Basel defender Jonas Adjetey Adjei, who was previously called up for matches against Angola and Niger, has been drafted in to fill the gap.

The Black Stars began their preparations officially on Monday, October 7.

The first leg of the qualifiers will be played on Thursday, October 10, at Accra Sports Stadium, followed by the reverse fixture in Libya at the Martyrs of February Stadium on October 14.

After a disappointing start to the campaign – losing 1-0 to Angola and drawing 1-1 with Niger – Addo and his squad are determined to secure all six points from the Sudan doubleheader to revive their qualification hopes.
