Hearts of Oak won’t follow Kotoko’s mass player exodus – Coach Ouattara

Hearts of Oak head coach Aboubakar Ouattara has revealed that the club will not follow rivals Asante Kotoko’s mass player exodus ahead of next season.

The Phobians had a challenging season, finishing in 14th position with 45 points after 32 games.

Despite the poor season, Coach Ouattara believes that the club will not offload players as their rivals Asante Kotoko SC did, sacking 21 players at the end of the season.

Speaking to SportsObama TV, Coach Ouattara stated, “You are sacking 100 and bringing 200, what is the result? Let us go slowly. When you go slowly, you have a 100 percent chance to achieve something. Sacking 11, 22, 100 players, and bringing in 100 to start again is [wasting] money.”

The Phobians are preparing for the upcoming Democracy Cup on Friday, July 17, 2024.

The Ivorian gaffer is expected to build a formidable squad for Hearts of Oak and compete for the league title in the 2024/25 season.
