GHANAsocernet.com readers have reacted with bemusement to Kwesi Appiah’s decision to leave out winger Frank Acheampong from his 25-man squad to face Egypt in a 2014 World Cup play-offs despite his commanding displays for Anderlecht.
The shockwaves from Appiah’s latest snubbing of the talented 19-year-old  have reached millions of the country’s leading football website discerning readers, who have been taken aback by the news.
One reader Yaroslavl quizzed: “Where is Frank Acheampong? And Redd replied: “Can you imagine he dropped acheampong and picks Adomah and out of form Atsu?
Patrick was left dumbfounded by the decision to leave out Acheampong and Richmond-Boakye Yiadom.
“My only problem is with Inkoom and Atsu inclusion. They are not playing football anymore why should they be included?  Why players likes Acheampong and Boakye are excluded?
“There are only two players I don’t think they should be in the squad. Albert adomah and Mahatma Otoo. They should be replaced by Frank Rchampong and Richmond Boakye Yiadom, Andy commented on the squad.
Spellbound had his preferences: “I think my fellow brothers hit the nail on the head here. Those who should have been dropped. Atsu, Inkoom, Adomah, and Otto. Those who should have been called: Acheampong, Yiadom.
GHFUO had harsher words for the decision branding it as ‘foolish’.
“Frimpong: This guy is injury prone and bench warmer. Has he even played a game this season? So on what basis was Frimpong, a.k.a. Social media commentator called?
“Adomahâ€The most useless winger I have seen in a Ghana Black Stars jersey.
“Atsu: This guy doesn’t even play for a club. He hasn’t even played a single game this season. So for a serious game like this, why was he called? Where is Yiadom, Affum, Nana Asare, and Acheampong? he asked
Lukersh concluded: Well I think it’s a good squard capable of winning against Egypt and any other teams that shows up. But my problem is with the reason why MAHATMA OTTO, SAMUEL NKUM AND ATSU. I dont personally think they deserve a call up. And this is my personal openion, Frank Acheampong and Abeyie are better off.â€
Kwesi Appiah and his backroom staff are coming under fire for calling up players who are stuggling at club level- which is a sharp contrast to the rules he set up to call players who are playing regularly for their respective clubs.
The Black Stars will host the first leg in Kumasi on Tuesday October 15 before they head to the North African country to play the crucial return fixture at the Air Defense stadium in Cairo.
