Sports Ministry will take care of NSA 36k – Dreams FC General Manager Ameenu Shardow confirms

General manager of Dreams FC, Ameenu Shardow has confirmed that the Sports Ministry will pay the GH₵36,000 demanded by the National Sports Authority (NSA) before they use the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The NSA had requested this amount from Dreams FC following the club’s decision to offer free entry for their upcoming second leg CAF Confederation Cup match against Zamalek FC in Kumasi.

The decision sparked heated debates in the media and prompted discussions between the stadium authority and the team.

However, in an interview with Akoma FM, Shardow confirmed that the Ministry has agreed to settle the charges.

“The Sports Ministry has stepped in and assured us that it is not our responsibility to make payment to the NSA and that they (MOYS) will take care of everything in terms of preparation.”

“Mind you, if this stadium is not ready for the semi-finals, Dreams FC may be disqualified from playing here, and there is a Black Stars game scheduled for June.”

“So, if the only venue homologated on the CAF list of venues for international matches is rejected, Ghana will be unable to play its next international game in our homeland, and we all know what that means,” He added.

The much-anticipated encounter is set to take place on Sunday at 4 PM as Dreams aims to become the first Ghanaian club to qualify for the finals of the competition since 2004.
