Leicester City manager, Enzo Maresca, has come to the defence of his players in the miss of them missing so many chances.

Maresca says his Ghana’s Abdul Fatawu Issahaku and other young players of the Hammers are human and would learn from their mistakes going forward.

Speaking at a pre-game press conference ahead of Leicester’s upcoming fixture against Plymouth Argyle on Saturday, April 13 at 19:00 GMT, Maresca addressed the team’s recent performance.

Reflecting on their previous match, a 1-0 defeat to Milwall, Maresca emphasized the need to move forward and maintain focus on the upcoming challenges.

“We had Stephy Mavididi after five minutes, Kel (Kelechi Iheanacho), Pat (Patson Daka), Ricky (Ricardo Pereira), Abdul [Fatawu], Yunus [Akgün],” Maresca remarked. “But it’s football. You don’t score; they score. But we are not worried about the goal we conceded or the chances we miss.”

“They are human beings. They are players and they want to score goals,” Maresca stated. “But sometimes it doesn’t happen. I don’t think any player in the world when he gets a chance wants to miss, but it happens.”

Leicester City top of the Championship standings, their once commanding lead has dwindled, leaving them tied on points with second-placed Ipswich Town, albeit with a game in hand.
