In a closely contested match in the German Bundesliga 2, FC Kaiserslautern faced a narrow 2-1 defeat to Greuther Fürth, despite a valiant effort from German-born Ghanaian forward, Ragnar Ache.

The head-to-head record favored FC Kaiserslautern, with 10 wins to Greuther Fürth’s 4, but the latter managed to tip the scales in their favor on Friday evening.

Ache, starting the game at the Sportpark Ronhof Thomas Sommer, displayed his prowess by scoring a left-footed goal from a very close range in the 18th minute. The corner, assisted by Marlon Ritter, found Ache who made no mistake in finding the back of the net.

However, Greuther Fürth’s Robert Wagner had other plans, scoring twice in the 53rd and 90+5th minutes to secure the victory for his team.

The match also saw the participation of other German-born Ghanaians, with Richmond Tachie and Aaron Opoku featuring for FC Kaiserslautern, and defender Gideon Jung playing for Greuther Fürth.

Ragnar Ache has made 22 appearannces and scored 16 goals in the Bundesliga 2 this season.
