Injury woes continue for VfL Bochum as Christopher Antwi-Adjei ruled out of RB Leipzig clash

VfL Bochum’s hopes for a full-strength squad ahead of their crucial home fixture against RB Leipzig this weekend have been dashed as coach Thomas Letsch confirmed that winger Christopher Antwi-Adjei will once again be sidelined due to persistent muscular problems.

The 30-year-old Ghanaian, who missed the previous game against Mönchengladbach, has been unable to shake off his injury concerns, making his return to training this week unlikely.

Antwi-Adjei’s absence poses a significant setback for VfL Bochum, depriving them of his attacking prowess and experience on the left wing.

Coach Letsch now faces the challenging task of selecting a suitable replacement to fill the void left by Antwi-Adjei’s absence.

In the previous match against Gladbach, Letsch opted to start another Ghanaian talent, striker Moritz-Broni Kwarteng, in the hopes of injecting dynamism into the attack. However, Kwarteng failed to make a significant impact, leaving Letsch with a dilemma as he seeks to bolster his side’s offensive threat against Leipzig.

Antwi-Adjei has made 20 appearances, scored one goal, and assisted two in the Bundesliga this season.
