Kudjo Fianoo blames MOYs for Black Stars poor performance in 2023 AFCON

Chairman of Ghana League Club Association, Kudjo Fianoo has blamed the Sports Ministry for Black Stars disastrous performance in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations

Ghana bowed out at group stage after failing to win any of their group games.

It is the third consecutive exit of the Black Stars under the FA’s stewardship since 2019.

“Ghanaians should channel our frustrations to the one funding the Black Stars with our taxpayers, who has for years remained silent and is always injecting more cash into the squad despite their repeated dismal performance, but we play a league without sponsorship with clubs suffering,” Fianoo told Akoma 87.9 FM.

“I didn’t bother reading the statement since I believe it’s not the way to go. Since 2021, the FA has apologized, but nothing has happened,” he stated.

Follwing the exit of the team from tournament the Ghana Football Association set up a five-member committee to search for a new coach to take over the national team following Chris Hughton’s dismissal.
