Injury scare over as Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong gets all-clear for team training

Bayer Leverkusen fans can breathe a sigh of relief as it’s confirmed that Dutch-born Ghanaian defender Jeremie Frimpong has emerged unaffected from a potentially worrying incident during the match against RB Leipzig.

The 23-year-old right-back, who was substituted after taking a blow to his lower leg, has been given the green light by the coach and is set to rejoin team training this week.

The injury scare occurred during the game against RB Leipzig, which ended in a thrilling 3-2 victory for Bayer Leverkusen. Frimpong had to leave the field in the first half due to the impact on his lower leg.

However, coach Xabi Alonso reassuringly delivered positive news during the post-game press conference, alleviating concerns of a prolonged absence.

“We have to wait until we do the tests tomorrow and Monday. We’ll see, but it doesn’t look that serious,” said Alonso.

Frimpong is on track to be available for the upcoming clash against Borussia Mönchengladbach scheduled for January 27th.
