Former Ghana forward, Odartey Lamptey is optimistic the Black Stars can pull a surprise by winning the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
The west African powerhouse are making their tenth successive appearance at the continental showpiece.
Ghana is drawn in group B with seven times African champions Egypt, Cape Verde and Mozambique.
Speaking with Sienu TV, Lamptey is certain the team will shock the entire continent in Ivory Coast.
“I think from what I’ve seen we have a good team with an experienced coach. He’s part of the team that went to the World Cup so he knows the team very well.
“I think we will cause a surprise at the AFCON,” Lamptey said.
The Black Stars will assemble for pre-tournament camping in South Africa on December 31 for ten days before travelling to Ivory Coast for the AFCON.
