Brighton and Hove Albion manager, Roberto De Zerbi is pessimistic Tariq Lamptey will not recover in time to play for the Black Stars at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Lamptey, who is injured, has been named in Ghana’s 55-man provisional squad for the tournament by head coach Chris Hughton.
The former Sassuolo manager criticized Chris Hughton for including the defender in his provisional squad.
“He is not available to play with us, so how will he play with the Ghana national team?” the Italian manager told English media.
“It seems that the Ghana national team coach does not follow the Premier League,” he added.
Coach Chris is expected to prune down the list to 27 for the continental event next month.
The Black Stars find themselves in Group B alongside Cape Verde, Egypt and Mozambique.
The 34th edition of the AFCON has been scheduled to kick off from January 13 to February 11.
