The manager of Hertha Berlin, Felix Magath has disclosed that veteran forward Kelvin-Prince Boateng helped him to select the team that defeated SV Hamburg on Monday night.
Prior to yesterday’s 2-0 win, Hertha Berlin had lost 1-0 to Hamburg in the first leg of the playoff tie to avoid relegation.
Needing a win, Coach Felix Magath consulted the most experienced player on his team, KP Boateng.
According to the gaffer, he allowed the former Black Stars regular to share inputs that resulted in putting together the strongest starting eleven to chase the victory.
Fortunately, that collaboration worked as Hertha Berlin cruised to a needed 2-0 victory.
On the matchday, Dedryck Boyota and Marvin Plattenhardt netted the goals for Hertha Berlin as the team secured a 2-1 aggregate win to affirm their stay in the German Bundesliga.
After the win, there are talks that KP Boateng could extend his contract with Hertha Berlin for an additional year.
