Richard Ofori has been given the captain’s armband for Ghana in the FIFA World Cup qualifier against Madagascar on Friday.
The Orlando Pirates shot stopper makes his first start for the Black Stars since September 2021 when he started but hobbled off in a 1-0 defeat to South Africa in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Johannesburg.
The 30 year old will lead the team at the Babayara stadium in the absence of substantive skipper Andre Ayew who has been named on the bench.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 4pm.
