Heart Of Lions head Coach Abdul Fatawu Salifu has happily welcomed the decision to move his side’s home venue from WAFA park to Hohoe Sports Stadium.
The Volta Region based outfit had to vacate the Red bull SoccerArena following a thorough assessment of the implications arising from the Volta River Authority’s spillage of the Akosombo Dam, which adversely affected the Sogakope community.
In an interview with Citi Sports, Salifu said: “With me, I think it is fine, the decision to play at the WAFA Park was due to the Hohoe Sports Stadium not ready to host us.
“I think there were some things that were supposed to be put in place, that is how come the team decided to move to the Sogakope Park.
“Hohoe is deeply in Volta Region and close to Kpando and now that we are going back, I think it is best for the people of Volta Region and the club as a whole”
Kpando Heart of Lions will welcome Karela United this weekend to Hohoe Sports Stadium in a match day six of the Ghana Premier League.
