Ghana Premier League team Kpando Heart of Lions have officially relocated their home matches from the WAFA Red Bull Soccer Arena in Sogakofe to the Hohoe Sports Stadium for the remainder of the current season, kickoffghana.com can exclusively reveal.
This strategic decision was made on October 23, 2023, following a thorough assessment of the implications arising from the Volta River Authority’s spillage of the Akosombo Dam, which adversely affected the Sogakope community.
The Red Bull Soccer Arena had been initially endorsed by the Club Licensing Committee of the GFA as the primary venue for the Lions for the ongoing season.
The team, based in the Volta Region, has had a relatively sluggish start to their 2023/2024 Ghana Premier League campaign, amassing just four points from a possible 12 after competing in four matches.
They are scheduled to embark on an away fixture against Bibiani Gold Stars today for the fifth week of the competition.
