A group of Asante Kotoko fans went on a rampage, causing damage to seats at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Stadium on Sunday.
The incident occurred during the Ghana Premier League matchday six fixture when Nations FC secured a 2-2 draw with Kotoko.
Tensions escalated when a late penalty was awarded to Nations FC, leading to a disagreement among the fans who contested the decision.
The match had to be temporarily halted as fans expressed their dissatisfaction with the penalty call.
Ultimately, Asante Kotoko’s head coach, Prosper Ogum, intervened, allowing the penalty to be taken and concluding the match with a 2-2 scoreline.
The Ghana Football Association is expected to launch an investigation in the matter in the coming days.
