In the wake of the Black Stars’ recent disappointing performances, Ghanaian trainer Isaac Opeele Boateng has stepped forward to advocate for the retention of coach Chris Hughton.
The former Brighton and Hove Albion manager has been facing intense scrutiny following Ghana’s subpar displays against Mexico and the United States of America in the international break.
Opeele believes that the solution to the team’s woes is not a hasty departure of the coach but rather a more comprehensive approach that takes into account various factors affecting the team’s performance.
“GFA and Kurt must not sack Chris Hughton. Let it spoil. The All Known PERFECT MEDIA COACH.”
“I keep reminding the GFA that Hughton is UNTOUCHABLE! He is their choice; the media can sack Hughton themselves.” he posted
The Black Stars return to action in November against Madagascar and Comoros in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
