Former Chelsea defender Ryan Bertrand, has endorsed under-fire Chris Hughton as the right choice for the Black Stars’ head coach position.
Bertrand, who recently visited Ghana upon an invitation from Koppan Sports, has been closely following the progress of the Ghanaian national team under Hughton’s leadership.
The ex-England international, expressed his perspective on the unpredictability of football, emphasizing that performance can vary, regardless of whether it’s on the international or domestic stage.
He pointed out that the recent tests against the USA and Mexico provided valuable experience for the Black Stars, showcasing different styles of play and challenging opposition.
“I believe the team is in excellent hands under Chris Hughton, and I’m confident that they’ll be well-prepared when the tournament arrives,” Bertrand stated.
Notably, Ghana experienced back-to-back defeats for the first time during Hughton’s tenure.
Looking ahead, Ghana is set to face Madagascar and Comoros in the World Cup qualifiers scheduled for November.
