Former Chelsea left-back Ryan Bertrand arrived at Kotoko International Airport in Accra on Wednesday.
Bertrand and his team’s visit to Ghana aims to support and promote young, up-and-coming footballers.
He plans to visit lower-tier clubs in the country and make donations of cash and football equipment such as jerseys, boots, and balls to the clubs he meets in the upcoming days.
A delegation, led by former Udinese midfielder Emmanuel Agyeman Badu, warmly welcomed Bertrand at the airport in traditional Ghanaian fashion.
The 34-year-old former defender has had a notable career, featuring for clubs including Leicester City, Aston Villa, Southampton, and Chelsea FC.
