Ghana Football Association Executive Council member Frederick Acheampong has disclosed that improving the performance of national teams is a top priority for Kurt Okraku in his second term as president.
Kurt Okraku, having gone unopposed for the presidency following the disqualification of contender George Afriyie, is now set for his second term.
While acknowledging the accomplishments achieved in their previous term in office, Acheampong stressed the importance of enhancing the performance of the national teams after the mass failures experienced in their first term.
“If you analyze the past four years, I think that relatively, we have achieved a lot, but there are many areas that also need improvement,” Acheampong said, as quoted by GhanaWeb.
“Improving the performance of the national team in international competitions and infrastructure development are also top priorities because we laid the foundation in our first term,” he added.
The Black Queens are one step away from qualifying for next year’s Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, while the Black Stars, who have already secured qualification, await the draw which comes off on Thursday night in Abidjan.
