Deputy Sports Minister, Evans Bobie Ansah is confident that the Black Stars will make a “strong impact” at next year’s African Cup of nations set to be hosted in Ivory Coast.

Ghana secured her tenth successive AFCON qualification after beating Central African Republic 2-1 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium last week Thursday following goals from Mohammed Kudus and Ernest Numah.

The last edition of the AFCON ended in a disaster as the Black Stars attained one point from three matches and ultimately exited from the group stages.

Speaking on Akoma FM, Mr Ansah explains why the upcoming tournament will be an improvement of the previous edition.

“I believe the technical team will assess the team and make the necessary corrections going into next year’s AFCON so we can have a formidable team.

“With good preparations and rectifying some few technical mistakes in our team, I believe strongly that we can make a very good impact at AFCON 2023, ” he stated.

Ghana will be hoping to win the AFCON trophy to end the country’s 41-year trophy drought.
