George Afriyie is demanding unedited video and audio recordings of his vetting process to challenge his disqualification from the upcoming GFA President Elections.
The Electoral Committee of the GFA, after a thorough review of his eligibility, made the decision to disqualify him from the race.
The Committee cited that Afriyie’s application was unsuccessful due to his breach of “Article 13(2)(j) of the Ghana Football Association statutes, 2019,” as well as his “failure to provide the required number of Ghana Football Association members to support your candidature.”
However, George Afriyie has expressed deep dissatisfaction with this decision and is determined to take legal action.
In a letter sighted by Kickoffghana.com and addressed to the GFA, Afriyie requested access to the unedited video recordings of his vetting before the EC.
He also sought recordings of the calls he had with President Leslie Kuuku Bartels and Mr. Jeffrey Asare, which were cited in the EC’s decision.
This bold move by Afriyie is more than just a challenge to his disqualification; it’s a rallying cry for transparency and accountability within the GFA.
He believes that the unedited video recordings will provide a comprehensive and unbiased account of his interactions with the EC, thus allowing for a fair review of the decision.
Below is a copy of the letter which was intercepted by kickoffghana.com;

Accra – Ghana.
Dear Sir,
REQUEST FOR UNEDITED VIDEO RECORDINGS OF MY VETTING AND
CALLS WITH MR. LESLIE KUUKU BARTELS AND JEFFREY ASARE
I take notice of the decision of the Elections Committee (EC) in relation to my candidature for the position of the President of the GFA dated 28th August 2023 but sent via email on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at about 5pm (Decision).
I am very much aggrieved at the Decision and intend to appeal.
I therefore request that I be furnished with the unedited video recordings of my vetting before the ElectionsCommittee as well as the unedited video recordings of the purported calls with President Leslie Kuuku Bartels and Mr. Jeffrey Asare referred to in 1(ix & x) of the Decision to enable me to prosecute my appeal.
I count on your kind cooperation.
Yours in football,
George kwasi Afriyie”
