Great Olympics secured an impressive victory over Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League on Thursday, with head coach Bismark Kobi-Mensah hailing his team’s resilience and determination in the win.
The Wonder club beat the defending champions 2-0 at the Sogakope Park to give their survival chances a major boost. The Dade Boys scored two first half goals through Michael Osei and Emmanuel Akesseh.
Speaking to reporters after the match, Kobi-Mensah expressed his delight at the team’s performance and credited their preparation for the game.
“We couldn’t have done anything better than this very win. Playing against Kotoko was a headache for me because they also want to win the league title but at the end of the day we prepared very well for this game and they deserve the win,” he said.
The gaffer also praised his team’s dominant first-half performance, which set the tone for the victory.
“In the first half, we dominated in every department. We showed resilience, we showed determination and that has won the game for us,” Kobi-Mensah added.
The win moves Great Olympics to the 14th spot with 35 points, just one place above the bottom three teams.
“We have to keep working hard, keep fighting and keep believing. We know we have the quality to compete with the best teams in the league and we just have to keep showing it on the pitch,” he concluded.
