Black Stars defender Joseph Aidoo was the match-winner on Wednesday night as Celta Vigo recorded a late win over Elche in the Spanish Primera La Liga.
Celta ended a run of four matches without a win with a hard-fought 1-0 victory against bottom-placed Elche at the Estadio de Balaidos.
Aidoo’s moment of glory came in the 90th minute as his diving header from Franco Cervi’s cross was enough to ensure all three maximum points of the match.
The victory for Celta Vigo provides his side with a good cushion as they seek to put some daylight between themselves and the relegation places.
Celta are placed 12th on the La Liga standings with 39 points, 9 clear from Valencia who are 18th.
The Ghana central defender has now equaled his best scoring season in La Liga this season as he’s scored three goals in 30 appearances for Celta Vigo.
