Aduana Stars coach Paa Kwesi Fabin insists his team is still on course for the 2022/23 betPawa Premier League title despite their defeat to Asante Kotoko on Sunday.
The Porcupine Warriors came from behind to beat leaders Aduana FC 2-1 at the Baba Yara Sports stadium in Kumasi.
Isaac Mintah found the opening goal in the 28th minute to give the Ogya boys the lead before Eric Zeze‘s sensational 48th minute strike broke Aduana hearts.
The visitors created chances in search of the equalizer but Asante Kotoko defended gallantly to protect their lead as they held on to win the contest 2-1.
Despite the setback, Aduana FC remains on top of the table with 47 points – three points ahead of second placed Bechem United FC while Asante Kotoko moves to 4th with 42 points.
“Oh yes, we are still on course. We are still leading with 3 points. We are going home and then definitely we are going to win at home and we see what happens,” he told StarTimes.
Aduana will return to Dormaa to host Bibiani Gold Stars for their next game.
