Ghana’s Karim Adams scored an extra time goal to send FC Basel to the semi finals of the Europa Conference League after beating OGC Nice by 2-1 on Thursday night.
The goal was his first ever in European competition of his career.
Striker Gaetan Laborde power the home side OGC Nice into the lead in the 9th minute.
The first half of the game ended with the French side having an upper hand over their visitors.
With three minutes to stoppage time, Basel restored parity thanks to Jean-Kévin Augustin’ goal.
As the game looks to end with penalty shootout, Adams directed a header into the bottom corner to secure the win for his team.
Basel will now face Italian side Fiorentina in the next round of the tournament.
