Chelsea and Wolverhampton Wanderers will clash at Molineux this weekend in the Premier League with Frank Lampard set to play out his second debut as the Blues’ manager with the club’s all-time top scorer taking the helm just two days after Graham Potter’s departure.
The terrible period of football under Potter has now ended with great pleasure for Chelsea fans. They may, however, be fearful of Lampard taking charge once more as he struggled towards the end of his first tenure in west London.

Lampard would win 44 games from the 84 matches he was in charge at Chelsea with 23 games lost and 17 drawn. It saw the Englishman pick up a 52.4% win record, which was much better than the record he earned at Everton, as just 12 wins from 44 games saw Lampard win only 27.3% of games.
At the same time, however, Potter lost almost the same amount of games he won at Chelsea since September, losing 11 times and winning just 12 games.
The Potter era ended with a 2-0 home defeat to Aston Villa and with a 0-0 draw on Tuesday against Liverpool, the Blues are sitting down in 11th and are heading into this game in one of the lowest positions they’ve ever been in at this stage in the Premier League.
Prior to this, Chelsea also drew 2-2 with Everton and they are now preparing for this game on Saturday and a return to Champions League action where they will meet with Real Madrid on Wednesday.
Lampard does, however, have a gap of 14 points to make up on Manchester United in fourth if they are to get back into the Champions League for next season.
As for Wolves, they have already gone through one managerial sacking this season with the departure of Bruno Lage, but Julen Lopetegui hsa managed to since steer his side into 14th in the Premier League.
They are, however, still only one point above the relegation zone and just three points separate 12th-placed Crystal Palace and Bournemouth in 18th in this completely unpredictable relegation battle.
Lampard is set to be without Thiago Silva on his first game back in charge for Chelsea, while captain Cesar Azpilicueta is out and Armando Broja won’t play at all under Lampard as he is out for the season. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is set to face a late fitness test.
Forebet predicts a win for Chelsea and for the game to see over 2.5 goals.
