Black Galaxies coach Annor Walker has offered his assessment following his side’s defeat to Niger in the quarterfinals of the 2022 TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Algeria.
Ghana bowed out of the competition after losing 2-0 on Saturday, January 28.
The Galaxies failed to advance after conceding a goal in each half in the quarterfinal match played at the Miloud Hadefi Stadium on Saturday evening.
Despite Ghana’s dominance in the second half, they were unable to break the Nigerien defense as they held on to win the game.
The result leaves the two-time finalists out of the competition with Niger advancing to the semi-final stage.
“When they (Niger) got an early goal, it gave them more determination and, on our side, it demoralized us…and when we conceded the second goal, we struggled to come back and eventually lost. I don’t think we deserved to lose” Walker said at the post match conference.
“Seriously I don’t know what to say because I am short of words. It is a very big blow losing this match but everything that God does is good” he added.
