“What will happen to the rest of AshantiGold games?”

Asante Kotoko Chief Executive Officer Nana Yaw Amponsah has questioned the Ghana FA decision to postpone their matchday 29 Ghana Premier League clash AshantiGold.

The Ghana FA postponed the clash between the demoted Miners and the league leaders citing reasons of an intelligence report and advice from the Ghana Police Service.

Speaking to Accra-based Peace FM on Thursday morning, the CEO insisted Kotoko will ask the Ghana FA to refund the expenses incurred by the Porcupine Warriors while preparing for the postponed game.

The 2019 Ghana FA Presidential candidate questioned the rationale behind the decision to postpone the match and asked for clarity on what would happen to the rest of AshantiGold’s games.

“We were only informed on Wednesday about the postponement of our game, meanwhile we’ve prepared for the match already, but the timing was wrong, the FA should have consulted further before releasing Ashgold’s verdict,” he told Dan Kwaku Yeboah on Peace FM.

“So what would happen to the rest of AshantiGold games?” he asked. “How competitive will the matches involving AshantiGold be?”

As of Wednesday morning, no official notification had been sent to either of the clubs involved in the game.
