Mohammed Salisu was in top form as Southampton stunned Manchester City on Wednesday night to move into the semi-finals of the EFL Cup.

The Ghanaian centre-Back lasted the entire duration at St Mary’s Stadium and put up a dominant defensive performance that kept the star-studded City attack at bay.

Salisu had 47 touches, completed 27 passes and made five clearances. He was 100% in defending aerial ball, winning four out of four, before recovering the ball three times.

Sekou Mara and Moussa Djenepo were on target as the hosts knocked out the English champions.

Southampton return to Premier League action at 3pm on Saturday when they travel to Goodison Park to take on Everton
