2022 World Cup: GFA not to blame for Ghana’s early exit- Dr Tony Aubynn

Executive Council Member, Dr. Tony Aubynn insists the Ghana Football Association is not to blame for the Black Stars‘ early exit at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Ghana failed to advance to the knockout round after a 2-0 loss to Uruguay last Friday.

The West African country beat South Korea in between defeats by Portugal and Uruguay to finish bottom of Group H.

According to the Medeama SC Board Chairman, the FA did everything to ensure the team’s success but the players ultimately didn’t deliver.

“The materials available was what the coaches used, the FA did everything right (via motivation), we just didn’t do well. Will the Germany also apologize for their exit?” he quizzed. “Because people tipped them(Germany) as favorite but were eliminated, they told themselves it’s a building process same as Morocco. We just need to give our players the needed time since we are building,” he added.
