Zambia FA boss rallies support for Chipolopolo ahead of crunch Ghana tie

Zambia FA boss Kalusha Bwalya has whipped up support for the Chipolopolo ahead of their crunch tie against Ghana.

The African champions need to beat the Black Stars to get their 2014 World Cup qualification hopes back on track after suffering an opening day defeat to Sudan.

Ghana on the other hand are on the high following their 7-0 demolition of Lesotho making a strong case for a third successive World Cup appearance in the process.

But Bwalya, himself a former international wants his team to repeat the dose they ditched out to the Black Stars at the semi final stage of the Nations Cup earlier this year.

He has thus called for total support for the team  ahead of Saturday’s crucial game in Ndola and believes at the end of the day, the team’s hard work will pay off.

“The team is working hard every day.” he said

“We realize that we did not become champions by chance so the team puts a lot of energy in training.”

“We have a formidable team which is strong tactically, technically and mentally. We need to give our boys all the support they need so that we can bounce back in the race for Brazil 2014.”

“Being African Champions is not going to be easy because every team wants to beat us.”

Zambia beat Ghana 1-0 enroute to their sole Nations Cup triumph in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea earlier this year.
