Former Black Stars striker Asamoah Gyan has described Uruguay’s exit from the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup as “Karma”.
The South Americans won 2-0 against Ghana but could not qualify to the next stage as they placed third on the table after South Korea beat Portugal who had already secured the first position.
It was a match that had Ghanaians crave for a revenge after Uruguay inflicted pain on the African nation at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
The La Celeste denied Ghana a place at the last four of the global tournament after winning 4-2 on penalties.
“They’re going home, and this is Karma for me,” Asamoah Gyan said on Super Sports TV as a panelist.
